Playstyles are one of the first major choices you'll make on CivSMP. Your playstyle defines what kind of player you are — and it directly influences your stats and traits, giving you a tailored set of bonuses that shape your gameplay.
Use /playstyles to open the playstyle menu and make your choice.

| ⚔️ Warrior | Bold, strong, and unshaken |
| 🧭 Adventurer | Curious, daring, and free |
| 🔮 Wizard | Mystical, focused, and arcane |
| 🎯 Opportunist | Smart, fast, and adaptable |
| 🛡️ Survivor | Tough, focused, and enduring |
| 🏗️ Architect | Creative, precise, and visionary |
| 📖 Scholar | Curious, patient, and knowledgeable |
| 💚 Cleric | Supportive, healing, and selfless |
Each playstyle grants a unique distribution of 100 stat points across your character's stats. These bonuses only apply while you're in that playstyle — if you switch, the points are redistributed to match your new choice.
Stats include: Speed, Strength, Health, Endurance, Resilience, Mining-Speed, Attack-Speed, Reach, Luck, and Wisdom.
Choosing a playstyle also unlocks 3 unique Bronze-level traits — passive abilities that enhance your gameplay in ways specific to your role. These traits are active while you're in that playstyle, but can also be unlocked permanently through other progression paths.
You can only hold one playstyle at a time. After making your initial selection, you must wait 7 days before switching to a different one. So take some time to think about your preferred playstyle before committing!
Once you choose, commit to it for the full 7-day period and make the most of your traits and stat bonuses before reassessing.
