Character Progression on CivSMP

CivSMP has a rich progression system that rewards you for simply playing the game. As you fight, mine, farm, build, and explore, your skills level up — and leveling skills earns you stat points and skill points to invest in your character.

The 10 Stats

Stats are your core attributes. Every player starts with 20 base points in each stat, and each stat can be increased up to a maximum of 100.

Stat	What it does
💙 Speed	How fast you move when walking or sprinting
💛 Strength	How much damage you deal to enemies
❤️ Health	Your total number of hearts
💚 Endurance	How long you can run before losing saturation
💜 Resilience	How much damage you take from attacks
🟠 Mining-Speed	How quickly you can break blocks
🔴 Attack-Speed	How fast you can strike enemies
🟤 Reach	How far you can reach when building or mining
🟢 Luck	Chance to get extra drops when gathering resources
🔵 Wisdom	Increases XP gain and reduces anvil costs

Your playstyle grants a 100-point stat bonus spread across relevant stats — so picking the right playstyle amplifies your preferred playstyle.

The 12 Skills

Skills level up automatically as you perform their associated tasks. There's no grinding required — just play normally and your skills improve naturally.

Combat Skills:

• ⚔️ Fighting — Melee combat with mobs and players
• 🛡️ Defense — Taking damage from enemies
• 🏹 Archery — Ranged combat with bows
• 🏃 Agility — Running and jumping

Gathering Skills:

• ⛏️ Mining — Breaking ores and blocks
• 🌾 Farming — Harvesting and growing crops
• 🪵 Foraging — Cutting down trees
• 🎣 Fishing — Catching fish

Crafting Skills:

• 🧱 Building — Placing blocks and structures
• 🔨 Crafting — Crafting items at a table
• ⚗️ Alchemy — Brewing and splashing potions
• ✨ Enchanting — Enchanting and combining items

The Skilltree

The Skilltree is where you spend your skill points to customize your character in a meaningful way. It's designed as a maze with 167 branches — the deeper you go, the greater the rewards.

You must choose a playstyle before accessing the Skilltree, as your starting position in the tree is determined by your playstyle choice.

Spend your skill points wisely — they're earned through leveling up skills, and the tree offers a huge variety of unlockable bonuses.

Traits

Traits are passive abilities that boost your player. Each trait has 4 levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Master. They can be unlocked temporarily or permanently. Browse all available traits in your Player Profile menu.

If you unlock a trait at a lower level than you currently have, it will be overwritten — so always upgrade upward.
